About Mentorship 
The NSW Writers' Centre offers a mentorship scheme for members who would like professional assistance with their writing.

The scheme offers one-to-one supervision and discussion of a member's work with an experienced, established writer or editor. Usually this involves face-to-face meetings held at times and places suitable to both mentor and mentoree.

As a mentoree, you can select your preferred mentor from the list or nominate one of your choice, and we will endeavour to secure his/her services for you.

The cost to the mentoree/novice writer is $1,290 for 20 hours’ supervision, $1,015 for 15 hours, $740 for 10 hours, or $465 for 5 hours inclusive of GST. Don’t forget to allow sufficient time for your mentor to read your manuscript, which should be submitted to your mentor in hard copy form.

The mentor will make handwritten notes on this copy of your manuscript for discussion with you in a face-to-face meeting, but will NOT write a full manuscript assessment report. Mentorees are advised to tape record these meetings rather than interrupt the flow of the discussion by writing notes.

Once you fill in the mentoree form, select your mentor and pay the fee, you will be put in touch with your mentor to make your own working arrangements. It is possible to discuss your project with a prospective mentor before payment.
