DIRECTOR
David Ryding
David is responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of the centre.
PROGRAM MANAGER
Julia Tsalis
Julia is responsible for programming the Centre's courses, managing the Festivals, competitions and Newswrite.
OFFICE MANAGER
Steve Wimmer
Steve is responsible for managing the Centre's facilities, office, venue hire and accounts.
PROGRAM OFFICER
Jacqui Dent
Jacqui is responsible for the organisation and administration of Centre courses. She is also the editor of Newsbite, the Centre's weekly electronic newsletter. Jacqui is currently on leave with Sam Twyford-Moore acting in her role.
MEMBERSHIP AND OFFICE SUPPORT
Nicole Tregret
Nicole is responsible for processing membership applications and renewals and attending to all membership enquiries. She also processes payments for membership and events and looks after the NSW Writers Centre bookshop.
PROJECT OFFICER
Stephen Asher
Stephen is responsible for managing and coordinating the annual program of festivals and competitions including the Kids & Young Adult and Indigenous Festivals, and the Blake Poetry Prize and special events.
DATABASE SUPPORT
Terry Hanly
Terry is responsible for maintaining the Centre's membership database and for developing a new contacts/events database.
CARETAKER
Annette van Roden and Rickard Roach
Annette and Rickard are jointly responsible for the upkeep of the Centre's building and facilities including cleaning, gardening, room set-up and maintenance.

Máire Sheehan CHAIR Máire Sheehan is Manager, Educational Programs, in TAFE NSW. Maire is a former Mayor at Leichhardt Council, a Director of Government Skills Australia and of Australian Local Government Training. Maire is Convenor of Leichhardt Council's Friends of Maliana supporting East Timor.
John Dale DEPUTY CHAIR Is a best-selling author, editor, writing teacher and Director of the Centre for New Writing at the University of Technology, Sydney. He is the author of five books including Dark Angel, which won the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Novel, and The Dogs are Barking, a novel about police corruption in Sydney. His non-fiction book, Huckstepp: A Dangerous Life, was a best-seller, and his most recent book, Wild Life, was an investigation into the fatal shooting of his grandfather in 1940's Tasmania. John has been a judge of several major literary awards and his essays, reviews and non-fiction have appeared in a wide variety of journals and newspapers.
Sandra Graham SECRETARY Originally from Brisbane, Sandra has written and directed several short films, which have been screened at film festivals in Australia and overseas. She is currently developing longer form drama projects for television as well as writing her first novel. A member of the Writers Centre for a few years now, she has attended the centre's writers courses to develop her writing craft, and is on the Partners in Crime committee.
David Le Page TREASURER David is a former Treasurer of the Centre.
Katrina Curll
Susanne Gervay Is the award-winning author of the young adult novels I Am Jack, on school bullying which has been adapted into a play by Monkey Baa Theatre for Young People. Her young adult novel, Butterflies, is a defining book on youth disability, while The Cave, exposes youth male culture today. That's Why I wrote This Song is a break through work on the integration of music and text. Susanne's books are endorsed by organisations such as the Room To Read, Children's Hospital Westmead and the Alannah and Madeline Foundation. She has won and is short listed for numerous awards, is an inaugural patron of Monkey Baa Theatre for Young People, awarded the Lady Cutler Award for Distinguished Services to Children's Literature, go-head of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), is Chair of the Sydney Children s Writers and Illustrators at The Hughenden Hotel and holds the youth portfolio on the management Committee of the NSW Writers' Centre.
Virginia Harrison
Diane Murray Diane Murray is a founding director of the Interior Architecture practice, Danks Design Group Pty Ltd, established in 1978. She completed her MA in Creative Writing in 2006 and is currently undertaking her PhD at Swinburne on the subject of Marion Leathem, a pioneering Australian newspaper editor from the 19th century. Her short stories and articles have been published in professional publications and various online and printed journals. Diane has lived and worked in the Leichardt Municipality for 30 years. Due to her online study experiences and passion for books and writing, she is keen to promote the accessibility of writing in all its forms.
Karin Puels Karin Puels brings experience of leadership in a range of community organizations and has served on a number of boards. She is a passionate reader and a keen writer, with writer/producer/director credits for "Visions of Leadership". Karin has served on the Major Organisation's Fund of the Australia Council, the Australia Indonesia Institute and the Australian Sports Commission. Karin graduated as a lawyer and is admitted to the NY Bar. |
