Whatever your subject, whatever the true story you want to tell, this practical introductory course will set you on the way to writing with imagination, confidence and clarity. We’ll discuss the writing process, creativity, ways of developing your imagination and techniques to develop your writing. Looking at examples from a rich tradition of creative non-fiction writing, we’ll discuss the ways experienced writers approach their subject and the story-telling techniques they use. There will be writing exercises in class to get you started, writing tasks in between sessions that you can adapt to your project, and workshop sessions so you can read and discuss your writing in a supportive environment.
This is designed as an introductory course, best suited to beginners and intermediate level but even a more advanced student will benefit from the course.
